Gift Shop Helpers
Greet visitors and process sales for admission, garden tools, books and accessories!
Tour Guides
Lead visitors through the Garden's highlights. Learn all you need to know with a training session led by Director of Education
Elisabeth Cary.

 Build a Cob Oven
Saturday and Sunday, May 19 - 20, 9 am - 4 pm Come learn the ancient art of making cob! Known as adobe in the American west and daub in Europe, cob is a versatile building material made of clay, sand and straw. In this weekend workshop, permaculture expert Felix Lufkin will show us how to build a cob oven from the ground up using locally-sourced stone, clay, hay, sand, wood chips and gravel.

 The Essentials of Spring Maintenance Saturday, May 19, 10 am - noon As spring unfolds, perennial garden chores can become an overwhelming task. This program will walk you through a basic maintenance schedule helping you to identify what to do and when. This hands-on workshop will be led by Elisabeth Cary, Director of Education for the Garden.

Mad for Lilacs
Saturday, May 19, 1 - 3 pm
Ever wonder "Why doesn't my lilac bloom?" or "When should I prune my lilacs?" With a bit of botany, history, personal opinion and hand-on horticulture, "Lilac Jack" Alexander will discuss lilacs - not just the best for bloom, but the best for fragrance, disease resistance, flower form, color, and the best for your garden.
