DHA and Head Start Provide Hope for the Children
In today's fast-moving society and the battle for the almighty dollar, it is not often that organizations come together for a common cause with no hidden agendas. Not so, with the Dallas Housing Authority and its relationship with Head Start of Greater Dallas. The two agencies have worked closely since the 80's to give hope to children who may not be expected to compete with mainstream America because of economics or education. Full Story |
 Many Partners Contribute to Develop the Margaret H. Cone Center
Dedication ceremonies for the new Margaret H. Cone Head Start and Early Head Start Center will be Tuesday, January 29 at 10am at the center, 2919 Troy St., Dallas. This center combines the Head Start and Early Head Start programs to offer early childhood development for children from birth to age 5.
This model preschool program, the result of a partnership between Texas Instruments and HSGD, demonstrates that low-income children from any environment, no matter how challenging, can attain academic success in school. Full Story |
Community Meets Holiday Needs

Disadvantaged preschoolers received toys and parties last holiday season thanks to generous donations from the community.
Donors also adopted 56 of the agency's neediest families, providing food, clothing, blankets and necessities as well as toys for the children.
Groups assisting with center events included DART, Marriott, Sam Houston Middle School in Garland, Brinker International, Golden Hearts, Ladies of Charity, US Oncology, Panda Energy and St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. |

We will honor those who have truly made a difference in children's lives.
The rip-roaring event will feature a bearbecue dinner with all the fixins, silent auction, raffle and lot's more! Table and tickets will be available soon. |
