Just In Time Prayer
Volume #6 - June 3, 2011
Greetings!

I have a confession to make.  I'm afraid!  Not just, any kind of fear.  I'm talking, 'I know there's something that needs to be done, so why am I sitting nervously for an hour, unable to do it and eventually getting an upset stomach, before finally giving up' fear.  That's what this Just in Time Prayer request is for.  Please read on!

Sincerely in Christ,
Scott

Prayer Request

1.  Ask the Father to give me the courage to face this fear and complete the task without worrying about the outcome.

The task I'm fearful about is calling 18 pastors, who have been receiving information about Share the Savior, to try and schedule a meeting.  I'm planning on beginning the calls Tuesday, June 7, 2011.

About three months ago, I began introducing our ministry to churches via a series of emails.  Each email offered a different free resource to help their people become more effective sharing their faith.  I enjoyed the entire process; from developing the resources to creatively sharing them with the churches.

In the last email, I mentioned I would be contacting them by phone to try and arrange a time to meet and discuss in more detail how Share the Savior might be able to partner with them.  That task is now the next step in the process and one I am dreading.

It's interesting how God has worked in my life.  Formerly a shy, quiet type, I would now gladly stand in front of 500 Christians, total strangers to me, and give a talk on how to be more effective evangelistically.  I would be nervous, but wouldn't hesitate standing up to say my piece.  Initiating a call to speak with one person, however, is an entirely different situation.

I'm hoping and praying, that God might give me the same enthusiasm toward this task as he has toward presenting workshops before large groups.  If not, I at least am asking him to enable me to trust him for the courage needed to make the calls without the fear I normally experience.

Special Thank You!

The ministry of Share the Savior has blessed (and challenged) me tremendously.  Nothing however, has been as exciting or special as knowing people are praying for us.  So each time a new name appears on our prayer partner list, it's pretty likely I get teary eyed.

Three more blessed saints have agreed to take our cause  to the Father, who is capable of doing more than we could ever hope to imagine.  My special Thank You to Becky, Elisharao, and Davis for being the most recent members of Christ's body to sign up for our prayer team.

You probably won't receive the appreciation of your church for being part of Share the Savior's Prayer Team.  You likely won't hear your name mentioned with thanksgiving by a pastor or church leader for the good work you're doing for our ministry.  In fact, other than me, no one else on earth may even know of your role with us.  But know this.

None of that ultimately counts for anything.  It is the words we will hear as we stand before our God one day, that will make an eternal difference.  And as you continue praying on our behalf, for the ultimate glory of his Holy Name, you can rest assured that your work is not done in vain.  Every prayer uttered to Him, in the name of His Matchless Son, for the Glory of His Kingdom, is sweet music to our Father in heaven.  Keep on Saints, and thank you!

Yours in Christ,
