1. Ask the Father to give me the courage to face this fear and complete the task without worrying about the outcome.
The task I'm fearful about is calling 18 pastors, who have been receiving information about Share the Savior, to try and schedule a meeting. I'm planning on beginning the calls Tuesday, June 7, 2011.
About three months ago, I began introducing our ministry to churches via a series of emails. Each email offered a different free resource to help their people become more effective sharing their faith. I enjoyed the entire process; from developing the resources to creatively sharing them with the churches.
In the last email, I mentioned I would be contacting them by phone to try and arrange a time to meet and discuss in more detail how Share the Savior might be able to partner with them. That task is now the next step in the process and one I am dreading.
It's interesting how God has worked in my life. Formerly a shy, quiet type, I would now gladly stand in front of 500 Christians, total strangers to me, and give a talk on how to be more effective evangelistically. I would be nervous, but wouldn't hesitate standing up to say my piece. Initiating a call to speak with one person, however, is an entirely different situation.
I'm hoping and praying, that God might give me the same enthusiasm toward this task as he has toward presenting workshops before large groups. If not, I at least am asking him to enable me to trust him for the courage needed to make the calls without the fear I normally experience. |
Special Thank You!
The ministry of Share the Savior has blessed (and challenged) me tremendously. Nothing however, has been as exciting or special as knowing people are praying for us. So each time a new name appears on our prayer partner list, it's pretty likely I get teary eyed.
Three more blessed saints have agreed to take our cause to the Father, who is capable of doing more than we could ever hope to imagine. My special Thank You to Becky, Elisharao, and Davis for being the most recent members of Christ's body to sign up for our prayer team.
