The critical message you'll never heard from your mainstream business advisor
What do you do when people unsubscribe from your marketing list? If you're like most conscious entrepreneurs, you have an initial emotional response; for just a second you take it personally. And then minutes or hours later, you're on to more pressing business issues.
For more details about why it's imperative to adopt a new perspective on this, continue reading. If you want the bottom line, however, here's my best advice:
Another way to say it is: fugettaboutit (forget about it). It's the best gift you'll give yourself all day; maybe all year. You see, we only take things personally when we feel insecure. When something touches a little too close to truth, we often have a visceral reaction. Insecurity and reactionary business responses are nails in the coffin of your future. And although it's up to you to manage both, it's not as big a deal as you might think; raise your awareness and remind yourself that the action is not personal. Objectivity on your part removes the "sting" from their action. Remember: they (unsubscribers), and you, are simply trying to find the best matches in life; partners, friends, resources, services, newsletters, etc. As my mission and message become more defined, I notice a sharp reduction in the number of followers who are passive (read: people either LOVE my message or they, ummm, let's just say it doesn't resonate). Does this sound familiar? We don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. We don't want to appear to be controversial. We don't want to "rock the boat" or "cause waves." We want people to like us. But at what expense to our purpose-for-being? The impulse to modify our content to accommodate the masses diminishes by the second. You know why? Because I have a specific mission (as do you) and we are out of time. We do not have the luxury of basking in the notion that we have "all the time in the world." No longer can we adapt our truth to what people are comfortable hearing. It's time to grow up, step up and align with your purpose for being. If your language is namby-pamby; generic; white-bread; one-size-fits-all, to appeal to the masses, you've lost your way, my friend. If this makes you uncomfortable, please, please, (I beg you to) unsubscribe from this newsletter (using the link at the bottom of this page) for it will only cause you grief. From this point, my content will only be more searing and more poignant; timely and absolutely perfect for those for whom it is energetically intended. If it is in your best interest to unsubscribe, I have every confidence you'll find the perfect information for you from other providers because that's how life works; when we create a vacuum, something much better-fitting presents itself to fill that space. My purpose and mission is to help those who are ready; that's my job (based on my soul agreements) and I take it very seriously. Those who are ready, are receptive to an honest, forthright message that doesn't cater to frailty. Truth is truth. My truth may not be yours, but I am not willing to whitewash or soften mine to make you feel better about existing in mediocrity. We are each here and must pull our own weight, make our unique contributions to the whole and leave victimhood behind. It won't serve you--or any of us--on this journey. Individually and collectively we are on the very edge of creating a magnificent future; it's time to choose. This is my version of drawing a line in the sand. I've decided: No backing down. No throddling-back my energies. No quieting my voice. I've done that and it no longer fits; not that it ever did, but it was comfortable and convenient while I invested 45 years understanding and mastering the power within. My purpose for being is to model the behavior of a woman who stands in her power. Sisters and brothers, this is what that looks like and this is how it sounds. (The road is made easier when others model desired behaviors. My own mentors have saved me years of "learning from scratch.") For those who want to see it live and in-person, here I stand. Now that you see and hear it, I ask you: Why are you here? What is your unique purpose to propel the planet during this grand paradigm shift? Are you ready to declare your worthiness once-and-for-all and start (or continue) living as someone who is self-approved, not waiting for anyone to qualify you before you really begin making an impact? We are all waiting; to see you, to hear you, and to feel you in all the grandeur that is you. We await the contribution only you can make. Your clarity, your mission, your message, isn't for everyone; nothing is. You'll find that the more aligned you become with your truth, the more unsubscribe requests you'll see. That's fine. Let them drop from your subscriber list like flies, if they must. The silver-lining is: what's left is a tight, niched market of people who are supportive, responsive, and excited; eager and ready to hear what you have to say because yours is the message they've been waiting for. |

Sometimes you need to create your OWN framework for life
I vividly remember a quotation from a movie (although I cannot remember the name of the movie!). The main character said, As a wordsmith, it's rare that words hit me with such impact, but these did. Wow, I thought, one sentence that succinctly and accurately describes my life experience. If the content of this newsletter resonates with you, these words may very well describe your life experience, as well. In 1965, the year I was born, society was not structured to support me. Throughout my life, I continually endeavored to function within societal "norms" and still remain true to my soulful self. Even at a very young age, I possessed awareness of this experience, although I couldn't articulate it. I struggled to reconcile the vast differences between my inner knowing and society's silent but insidious message to conform. I had divine guidance in establishing ways of thinking and being so I could function. I found ways to operate within the framework of our society and thrive within my personal framework at the same time. The two co-existed... they had to. The exclusion of one or the other would have eliminated any possibility of being able to excel in both worlds. This is a very common experience among fringe-dwellers, pioneers, entrepreneurs, visionaries and sages. We don't "fit" the mold of the masses. But, we were never intended to. The biggest gift we can give ourselves--and the world--is to honor our unique perspectives. If necessary, we must build our own framework. Our existing cultural model contains much that doesn't make sense and never has; at least to me. It isn't an easy path. If you've built your own framework to contain your being, you know that it can contain elements of heartache as well as equal portions of great reward. If you do fit into the model of the masses, you may still occasionally need to build your own framework for your well-being. Be bold. Be fearless. Respond to the longing of your inner voice to be in full alignment with the most grand version of you. No one else can or will do it for you. It's not even their job, if they could; it's yours.
