Colleague

Hello and Welcome to EditCopyProof's weekly outpouring of valuable information to propel your business and inspire your soul.

Every edition contains an eclectic compilation. Whatever happens during the week ends up in this UNnewsletter.

You are in the yawn-free zone when this publication arrives in your mailbox each Monday because I promise to deliver the best of the best. Take what works for you and discard the rest.

Business and pleasure. Pleasure and business. The lines cross so frequently for entrepreneurs, it's often impossible to separate the two. They blend so beautifully, why even try?

That's the basis of this publication. You get a full dose of business-related topics as well as content having nothing at all to do with business. I have no doubt you'll find something to enhance your life. Enjoy!

Entrepreneurial Innovation
Springwise   Work Pods

OfficePd
As home-based entrepreneurs, the inherent challenges of working at home are many. They include the discipline required to get work done while in the comforts of your everyday living environment.

Although this product is marketed to employers who offer their employees a viable telecommuting option, it is easily adaptable to any home-based worker. The pod provides the necessary physical "separation" of home-life and work-life.

From the full Springwise article:

The OfficePOD focuses on employers who want to give their staff the option of working at home. The unit is a 2.1-by-2.1-metre structure that can be installed in less than a day and typically requires no planning consent. Designed to maximize efficiency in its use of space, the OfficePOD features innovative storage and desktop solutions using high-quality materials chosen for their visual, physical and environmental characteristics. Recycled and recyclable products have been used wherever possible and natural materials chosen over man-made.

Power is provided via a protected connection to the house or garage; IT and phone connectivity are generally wireless but can be similarly cabled. The POD satisfies the most stringent energy performance benchmarks with its low energy consumption, high levels of insulation and innovative cooling system.

The OfficePOD will be officially debuted in London later this month.

Technology Quick Tips
  Snippity snip snip

SnipURL
Often the simplest tools are the most efficient -- saving money, time, energy, or in this case, valuable space. This tool is most useful when the number of characters are limited; Twitter, as one example, which limits postings to 140 characters.

SnipURL.com is quick and easy. It's as simple as copying and pasting a long URL into the field on the Home page. With a quick click on the Snip it! button, your long URL is converted to a short one! You can then copy/paste this short URL into your Tweet or other application.

Easy, breezy, lemon squeezy!

Charlon Bobo   Giving the gift of dignity

Dignity

From Invisible Acts of Power by Caroline Myss (Page 147):

When you realize that another person
is starving for a serving of dignity,
would you be able
to walk away from him or her
having done nothing?

This seemingly innocuous sentence screamed out at me when I read it. I was compelled to read it over and over again allowing its full impact. It touched my core and prompted the following thoughts:
  • What stops us from granting dignity to others when it's within our power to do so?
  • How can we reconcile this and free ourselves to enjoy giving such a gift?
  • How could I benefit from being granted dignity by others?
I have pondered these questions and have consciously decided that when it is in my power to grant dignity to others, it is my responsibility to do so. Such a benevolent gesture has the potential to transform lives; mine and theirs.

On life's path of continual discovery and enjoying the journey with you!

Blessings.
