It's, like, making you sound like a complete idiot, you know?![]()
My niece attends San Jose State University.
This article was in the school's daily
online paper.
I cannot tell you how many times I've had this same thought as I'm out-and-about in the world. Do people know how they sound to others and how they come across? Do they care? It's a great piece. Enjoy! There is a disturbing trend that I have observed among my fellow students about which I can no longer remain silent. It is a virus that has infected nearly every person on this campus. I have recently discovered that I am, as well, in the initial stages of this hideous disease. I fear that if nothing is said or done about it, the world and our place in it may be in serious jeopardy. What, you may ask, could cause such a dire outlook? Well, it's not binge drinking, teen pregnancy, drug abuse or violence, although they are serious problems. No, it is the incessant use of three words - just three simple words that if I hear anymore, would explain to me why some people "go postal." Care to guess what they could be? Don't bother, I'll tell you. They are "like" and "you know." See full article here. |

Remember to look up
![]() On my daily walk through the forest, I often find myself looking down at my feet on the path. I have to remind myself to trust my footing and look up at my surroundings as I walk. The thick, towering redwood trees, lush fern and blue skies above all vie for my attention. How easy it is to focus on the things immediately in front of us (looking down at our feet) and miss everything else provided by a wide perspective (remembering to look up). Think about how much you might be missing by being micro-focused. Free yourself to enjoy all the blessings of a broad perspective. It may be the one difference that allows all else to simply "be" much more effortlessly. In Sisterhood, Light & Love, ![]()
