The importance of daily rituals
My morning routine involves walking along a streamside path in the forest. Then it's on to yoga in the park. After that I head home for a shower and finish preparing myself for the day. It's not something I think about. It's simply a habit. It brings me comfort to do this every day. The experience breaks my night and ceremoniously ushers in a new day. It clears my mind. It gives my lungs fresh air. It is my exercise regimen and connects me to nature and Source. Daily rituals give us the foundation when all else might be in flux. They make us feel something is in our control and within our ability to impact... no matter what else is going on in our busy lives.
