Is it really this simple?![]()
I recently saw this in an email signature
line:
"In an effort to be more productive, I check e-mail at 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. PT. If you need a quicker response, please call." A lightbulb went on in my head. I have an instant notification function that lets me know when emails hit my inbox. I check emails immediately and take care of the business of each one as it comes in because it usually only requires a quick response. What I realize now is this approach is inefficient. It forces me to break concentration on one task to start a completely different task which means it takes more time to do every task! Whew, that's a harsh realization. Time=money, so I'm using more time than necessary to accomplish my daily goals and it's costing me. From now on, a much better approach is determine how many times a day you check email and stick to the plan. Let your clients know our schedule in your email signature line, voicemail recording or in marketing materials. Increasing productivity can be as simple as becoming aware and implementing tools that work. |

Burying my animal companion![]()
I awoke at 12:12 AM to check on my cat, Sam.
He hasn't been right for the past 3 weeks and
it was evident that it was time to do my part
and return him to Source. I fell asleep again
and upon waking I began setting this clarity
in motion.
I made an appointment with the Vet and with the company of my loving companion Jeff we held him while he faded. His head was in my hands and I felt the subtle energy of his spirit leave. The doctor confirmed that he was gone. We packed his body into his crate and returned home to bury him next to the stream. Jeff dug through the snow and rich, dark earth as I watched in silent acknowledgment of the impact of Sam's life on mine. When the hole was ready, I pet his orange fur one last time and said a few sweet things and thanked him for choosing me to be his Mom. After all, it was MY honor to serve him. I wrapped him in a few towels and slowly dropped his body into the awaiting earth. As I did it began to snow. The dense fog enveloped us in a feeling of utter sacredness. This was definitely a moment to remember. Replacing the dirt and snow, Jeff gathered a few creek rocks and piled them on top of the grave. Later I added my own touch to honor Sam. Connections are powerful... to animals, to people, to the earth. We are all one. In Sisterhood, Light & Love, ![]()
