Dear Emerging Leaders,
Last week, I sent out an invitation to the July 10-12th Emerging Leaders workshop. I am excited to gather again, especially at this difficult time. The battle for CSBG and the future of Community Action continues to be waged and I need your help. As NCAF continues to work on behalf of the Community Action network, this upcoming meeting will provide a critical foundation for the work of NCAF during the next six to twelve months. I am looking for around 40 people who are policy-minded and willing to put in time both before and during the meeting to analyze current policies, evaluate potential changes to current legislation and make recommendations for ways to improve the Community Services Block Grant. Prior to the meeting, Emerging Leaders will be assigned homework tasks. During the Workshop, Emerging Leaders will be asked to consider impact on current programs and explore ways to improve the CSBG funding. I need Emerging Leaders with the following skills: policy analysis, writing, and understanding of CSBG and related programs. If you are interested, please RSVP as soon as possible. I would like to get a sense of how many Leaders will be attending. I also would like to plan on sending out homework tasks around the week of June 13th in order to leave time for you to prepare. |
