When a Celebrity Spokesperson Inappropriately Speaks Out   


The earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear plant catastrophes that hit Japan are certainly no laughing matter.

That is clearly why Gilbert Gottfried, actor, comedian and voice of the Aflac duck, was fired by Aflac after he tweeted jokes about the devastation in Japan.

Facebook vs. Groupon 

In November 2010, Facebook announced that it was going to be looking into developing a coupon-type program within the site.

In early March 2011, Facebook expanded the idea and is calling it Facebook Deals. Similar to Groupon, the deals users can receive are based on location.

Is AT&T Purchasing T-Mobile?

 

On Monday, March 21, AT&T announced that it wanted to purchase T-Mobile for $39 billion. The deal is still up in the air, but if AT&T does buy T-Mobile, AT&T would obtain an extra 34 million customers, making AT&T the largest cellular phone provider.

App is just an abbreviation, right? 


Over the past year or so, consumers have been using the word "app" as an abbreviation for the word application.

On Friday, March 18, Apple filed a complaint to the federal court that Amazon was using the term "App Store," which had been trademarked by Apple in January 2008.
