Heavenly Father, holy is thy name.

Thank you, Father, for being so very good to me and my family, the church and the entire world and thank you for your grace and mercy upon us all.

Father, death of our loved ones and of those around the world is extremely painful and difficult for us humans to comprehend. But I believe that if death and all other tragedies were as bad as we see it you, being love, wouldn't allow it to happen at all. And I believe you wouldn't bless us to be able to laugh now, during evil times, as well as in the future.

Thank you, Father, for your love and compassion for us all and the opportunity to spend eternity with you and Jesus in heaven. I love you! In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Godly Woman's Guide: Weekly Inspiration
A Time to Laugh IV
Monday, December 26, 2011

Ladies, I hope that you had a very Merry Christmas and that your New Year is more prosperous than ever. Until then please take a break and relax from the cooking and the cleaning. One thing I've learned is that laughter is good medicine and good for the soul. Not too long ago I heard a story about a man who was very ill. He went away by himself and rented nothing but funny movies and laughed for six months straight. He was quickly healed because of it! It may sound far-fetched but I believe it because depression can negatively effect our immune systems to the point that it can make us ill. And I've noticed that every time I laugh I feel so much better, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. In any case, I hope you get a good laugh out of these jokes. They put a huge grin on my face and cheer in my heart. I know that it pleased Father greatly for he loves when we his children have a good time and enjoy life, no matter the circumstances. So enjoy!

At a local coffee bar, a young woman was expounding on her idea of the perfect mate to some of her friends.

"The man I marry must be a shining light amongst company. He must be musical. Tell jokes. Sing. And stay home at night!"

An old granny overheard and spoke up, "Honey, if that's all you want, get a TV!"

An elderly lady was well-known for her faith and for her boldness in talking about it. She would stand on her front porch and shout "PRAISE THE LORD!"

Next door to her lived an atheist who would get so angry at her proclamations he would shout, "There ain't no Lord!!"

Hard times set in on the elderly lady, and she prayed for GOD to send her some assistance. She stood on her porch and shouted "PRAISE THE LORD. GOD I NEED FOOD!! I AM HAVING A HARD TIME. PLEASE LORD, SEND ME SOME GROCERIES!!"

The next morning the lady went out on her porch and noted a large bag of groceries and shouted, "PRAISE THE LORD."

The neighbor jumped from behind a bush and said, "Aha! I told you there was no Lord. I bought those groceries, God didn't."

The lady started jumping up and down and clapping her hands and said, "PRAISE THE LORD. He not only sent me groceries, but He made the devil pay for them. Praise the Lord!"

A young man comes home and says "Dad, just got my driver's license and would like to use the family car."

Father replies, :"O.K., son. But, first, you have to get good grades in school, keep your room clean, make sure the yard is neat, and cut your hair. Come back in a few months and then we'll see."

Well, several months pass and the young man comes into the house with his report card in his hand. "Dad, I got great marks on my report card. I've been keeping my room as neat as a pin, and the yard is always ship-shape. How about letting me use the car?"

Father replies, "That's all true, but son you didn't cut your hair."

Son says, "But, dad, Jesus had long hair."

Father replies, "Yes, son, you're perfectly right. And he walked everywhere he went."

One bright, beautiful Sunday morning, everyone in tiny Jonestown wakes up early and goes to their local church. Before the service starts, the townspeople sit in their pews and talk about their lives and their families.

Suddenly, at the altar, Satan appears!! Everyone starts screaming and running for the front entrance, trampling each other in their determined efforts to get away from Evil Incarnate. Soon, everyone is evacuated from the church except for one man, who sit calmly in his pew, seemingly oblivious to the fact that God's ultimate enemy is in his presence. This confuses Satan a bit. Satan walks up to the man and says, "Hey, don't you know who I am?" The man says, "Yep, sure do."

Satan says, "Well, aren't you afraid of me?" The man says, "Nope, sure ain't."

Satan, perturbed, says, "And why aren't you afraid of me?" The man says, "Well, I've been married to your sister for 25 years.

"A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person's strength. (Prov 17:22 NLT).
