PRAYER

Heavenly Father, holy is thy name. Father, thank you for being faithful and for providing a way during those times when I've been confused or discouraged and did not see a way out.

Father, I pray that you will bless me with the overwhelming desire and divine strength to always live by faith and not by sight, just as you blessed Christ.

Thank you, Father, for listening to me and answering this prayer. I love you! In Jesus' name. Amen.

The Godly Woman's Guide: Weekly Inspiration
Always a Way
Monday, November 14, 2011

We are living in perilous times or what the Scripture calls the last days (2 Peter 3:3). As a result, Satan is trying to steal our faith via confusion and fear and false revelations from people who claim to be prophets sent from the God of heaven. Being imperfect beings, we can become anxious if we're not careful. When I feel myself growing restless about my future I get comfort from remembering one of my favorite Bible passages about how Jesus miraculously fed 5,000 people with only one loaf of bread and a few fish--and there were even leftovers! (John 6:1-15)

As souls existing in a darkened world, we may be inadvertently worried about our personal futures; We're getting older and our bank accounts or 401k's may not be what we hoped they'd be by now and neither is our health. Maybe one of our loved ones have passed on and left us lonely or with voids in our hearts and we don't know how we will go on. Maybe we don't have the careers we thought we would have or the college degrees we hoped for. Maybe we weren't able to save enough money for our kids education and our mortgages aren't paid off like we hoped. Or, maybe we don't even know where our next paycheck is coming from and how we will pay the bills. But just as with the loaves and fish, God will always make a way for his children. We may not see the way, but it is there. And if it is not there yet, then he will put it there!

I was born into poverty, so there have been many times in my life when I was financially strapped and did not know where much-needed funds would come from in order to pay for this or that. Then, like magic, bam! There it was! God made a way! He either provided for the need or made the need unnecessary. I remember when I started my publishing company back in 1998. I needed a computer but had no money to buy one. (They were way more expensive back then than they are today.) So what happened? While my husband and I were on a trip to California, we visited one of his relatives, who was rich and very kind. He offered me (without me having to ask) one of his Pentiums for only fifty dollars, and he told me to pay him back whenever I had the money! I never saw it coming. But I am still thankful to him and to God to this very day. Also, there have been countless times when I've been very sick and the doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me. But God healed me anyway. He's provided for all my needs in the past, and he still does today.

I'm sure you can recall times when God provided divine intervention or as some prefer to call it, a miracle, in your life too. Therefore, as women of God, when times are tough it is crucial for us, and we receive huge blessings, when we recall God's past goodness and grace and mercy toward us. It strengthens us so we can prevail and get through the storms of life. And it reminds us that with Father, even if we don't see a way, he does, thus there is always a way.
