PRAYER | |
Heavenly Father, holy is thy name. Father, thank you for loving me and for confirming it through your Word and your actions. I pray that I never forget the depth of your love for me and the entire world.
Thank you, Father, for listening to me and answering this prayer. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God Is Love

Life throws us so many obstacles, at times we may be uncertain of God's love for us. The job we didn't get, the illness that wasn't healed, the loved one who parted this life prematurely, the husband who never showed up, the baby who was never birthed, and so on. However, these facts of life are not indications of a lack of God's love. It's life, not God, that is unfair.
The truth is, God is love, and he loves you! The world is confused about the real meaning of love, and their model of love is substandard. To them love is equivalent to lust, or attraction at first sight, or being intimate (sometimes with more than one individual at a time). Those kinds of "love" tend to fade when things get rough or don't go their way. But the Bible says, "Love (God) is patient, love (God) is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love (God) does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love (God) never fails" (1 Cor. 13:4-8 NIV). Therefore, we can only learn how to truly love someone by first loving and obeying him. (See 1 John 2:5.)
Remember, God was with you before you were born; he was there during your birth and after your birth. He was there when you took your first step and when you said your first word. In fact, Father God loves you so much that, even while you were a sinner, he sent his only begotten Son to die for you (John 3:16). If that is not a big enough sign of God's love, nothing will ever be sufficient. God is love.

FOCUS SCRIPTURE
The Lord says, "Do not let a wise man brag about how wise he is. Do not let a strong man boast about how strong he is. Do not let a rich person brag about how rich he is. But here is what the one who brags should boast about. He should brag that he has understanding and knows me. I want him to know that I am the Lord. No matter what I do on earth, I am always kind, fair and right. And I take delight in that" (Jeremiah 9:23-24 NIV). |
