FIRST LEGO LeagueCONGRATULATIONS TO FIRST LEGO LEAGUE HOMESCHOOLERS
Homeschooling teams that competed on November 6 at the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) tournament did very well. The Electrical Invaders (EI) took first place in Division 2 (9 to 14 year olds) for research, and fourth place overall; they are the alternate team for the state competition. The Bionics, also a first-year-competing homeschooling team, took the championship in Division 2! Read more about the EI team on the Virginia Homeschool Blog.

ARTICLE OF THE WEEK
In the Fullness of His Time - Kari Lewis
We can get impatient or even discouraged if our prayers aren't answered when or as we wish, if children don't learn or behave exactly on our timetables, or if so many other things don't go our way. In this article, Mrs. Lewis writes about waiting for the Lord's timing in our lives and expresses her thankfulness that homeschooling offers a certain bit of extra time with and for our children.

4) Parting Thought - Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don't already have
Everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
For it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
Because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
Because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.

- Excerpted from "Be Thankful," Author Unknown

5) Worth Repeating
"We need deliberately to call to mind the joys of our journey. Perhaps we should try to write down the blessings of one day. We might begin; we could never end; there are not pens or paper enough in all the world."
- George A. Buttrick (1892-1980), minister and teacher of theology. English born, he moved to the United States where he preached and taught at several different churches and schools.

6) Verse of the Week
Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.
- Psalm 113:1 (KJV)
