Thank you to all who have donated to date. The AFM board has approved the trip to Arizona and we are moving forward quickly to finalize plans. The decision was based both on the progress of our donations so far, as well as plans for additional fund raising this fall.
We will be departing December 26, and returning January 1st. Our goal is to take as many students as possible, so please plan vacations with these dates in mind.
Although the trip will definitely take place, financially we still need help. If you have not donated and are able to do so, please send a check. Any financial questions can be directed to our new Treasurer, Bob Naylor.
We have planned some additional fund raising activities. There will be a Thanks 1000 benefit on August 4 honoring Mr. Grantham as PUSD Teacher of the Year. We have invited band alumni parents as well as friends and patrons of Amador to attend. This event is open to all current band parents as well. For more information go to the web site.
AFM will host its first golf tournament at Castlewood Country Club on September 10th. Bring your friends for a great day of golf. We are also soliciting hole sponsors.
We also have a booth at the First Wednesday street Fair (which will be held on Wed July 11) where we will promote our events and sell reusable Amador bags to the community. Several of our jazz combos will be performing. Please come by to say hello. We will be near the Rose Hotel.
We have other fundraising opportunities planned as well. Watch for more information in upcoming newsletters. If you would like to volunteer and lend support for any of these activities, please contact Ellen McGraw.
