Winter band concert right around the corner! On Tuesday December 20 the

Able to help usher? If you can help usher at the winter concert (you will get to see your child perform) please email me.  Ushers will need to report to the theater lobby at 6:15 for a brief training session and will be responsible for handing out programs and making sure people enter and exit in between pieces.

Winter Banquet

Band Council invites you to the 2011 Winter Banquet, a festive holiday evening to celebrate and reflect on this past marching season's success and memories. The event includes fun section awards, and Band Awards, that students voted on in class for. Winter Banquet attendance is NOT mandatory but highly encouraged.

The dress code is formal, like band dress up days or homecoming. We will be having potluck style food once again:

Woodwinds - finger foods

Brass brings - single serving size drinks

Percussion & Colorguard - desserts

Section Leaders prepare your section awards but please make sure they last no longer than around 10 minutes per section. Food starts at 7:00PM. Awards begin at 7:30PM, and end around 11:00PM in the Multi-Purpose Room.

We hope to see you there for a Winter Wonderland night of friends, family, and fun memories to be both shared and made.

See you there!

GOT WINE?

Wine Drive at the Winter Concert, December 20th

We are hosting a wine drive at our Winter Concert on December 20th to support the "Wine Pull" at the Magic of Music, our largest fund raiser of the year. Guests at our auction and dinner dance event can pay to pick out a mystery bottle of wine and possibly win a prize. Even if you don't win a prize, you still get a bottle of wine to enjoy later!

We will be collecting wines at the entrance of the theater before the concert.   Buy a bottle or two or bring some from your cellar, all kinds will be appreciated.

Please do NOT send wines to school and do not send wine to the concert with your student.  Must be 21 or older to deliver wine.

Your donation of wine will contribute greatly to the success of the Magic of Music 2012.Please contact Stella Kim or Sally Baker for more information or if you would like to donate wine other than at the concert.

AVHS Winter Percussion and Winterguard Show

Although we are at the very beginning of the Winterguard and Winter Percussion season, plans are well underway for the AVHS Winter Percussion and Winterguard Show on Saturday, February 4, 2012.

AVHS will host Winter Percussion and Winterguard units from all over Northern California for an exciting day of competition.  Rumor has it that our competition has the best Judge's Room food, and well fed, happy judges are always a good thing!

While participation by the Winter Percussion and Winterguard families is required, all members of the AFM Community are encouraged to participate and attend, to ensure that this event continues the tradition of a high standard.
