Last chance for Uniform fittings!

The ONLY Uniform Fitting Make-Up Day for Marching Band will be Saturday, August 27th from 9:00 am - 9:30 am in the choir room.  If you have not been fitted for your uniform for some reason, - be sure not to miss it!

 Scottish Games

Scottish Games has all the volunteers needed.  A BIG thank you to all of those who signed up so quickly!  We will be wearing our purple and selling those programs!

To the generous volunteers, details to come in individual emails.  I'm still looking for someone to shadow me and learn the ropes as coordinator since I won't be around next season. Please email me with and questions.

Kindly,

Leanna

Tuesday Night Snacks

cookies 10Overthe past few years, the band parents have come together to provide yummy snacks for our hungry marching band students at the end of Tuesday night rehearsals. We will continue this every Tuesday throughout the season. The kids really love it after they have had a long, hard day. Suggestions for what to bring: cookies, cupcakes, brownies - any treat that teens would love! We do have some allergies in our band, so please everything needs to be peanut free 100%.  If you are interested in bringing snacks or helping serve please email Allison Cox.

 Thank you!

A good beginning...
I hope that the start of the school year is treating each family to good beginnings and smooth transitions into the new year.  I continue to be impressed with the level of hard work and discipline the band is displaying so early in the season.  We took our first steps marching and playing on Tuesday night and expect to be 1/3 of the way through our opening production on Saturday.  The props are almost done and the flags are in production!  "The Awakening" is coming together and I believe will prove to be our most entertaining show yet.

A reminder that we do not have practice over Labor Day weekend.  Enjoy the break!

Colorguard (Thursdays 6-9) and Percussion (Wednesdays 5-9) practices start next week.

Stay tuned for more information as our first football game is fast
approaching!

Got sewing skills?  Keep reading...
If you are able to do some sewing of sleeves to cover our props, please contact me via my email link below.  There are 12 props and the sleeves (which are not very large in circumference, but are quite long!) will change color 4 times.

Advanced sewing skills are not necessary and the music building can be
used to coordinate many sewers and cutters at once.  Hope to have this completed by the first of October.

Take care,
Mr. Grantham
