Ice Cream Sandwich Party Contest
 The Band RAs are sponsoring a contest among the band class periods. The class that returns the most Parent Volunteer Forms between May 16th - May 27th will win an Ice Cream Sandwich Party to be held during class. Please use this link to download and print the form
You can fill out one form for all parents and students in your household (include names and schools of siblings) and you will be covered for all volunteer activities at all schools for the entire 2011-2012 school year.
*Help your student win an Ice Cream Sandwich Party...most importantly help your Head RA get a jump on the hardest part of the job (not kidding). Some of last years parents were unable to RA events because of clearance backlogs and delays-so please act early.

Reminder
AFM Fiscal Year ends June 30. It is very helpful to year-end accounting for ALL expense receipts to be filed as soon as possible, and no later than June 15. Receipts should be submitted along with the Expense Reimbursement Form.

Spring Concerts Soon!
|
 Spring concert ushers The spring band concert for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony is on May 17 The Collage Concert for both Wind Ensemble's and Jazz B is on May 25. Thank you to Ellen McGraw and Nina Borchers for volunteering to usher at the Collage Concert. 1-2 more ushers are still needed for the 5/25 concert and 4 ushers are needed for the band concert on 5/17 (for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony.) You will get to see your child perform. If you can help usher at either event, please email me. Thank you in advance for your help.
Strangest request of the year? Does anyone have a bird call (yes, a bird call) that we may borrow for a piece that asks for multiple bird calls. If you can help, please send in with your child and I will make sure you get it back after the performance (5/25).

May 12 All-Members Meeting
Dear Friends in Music, You are invited and encouraged to attend the final All-Members Meeting of the school year. It will be held on May 12, 7:00 PM, in the Choir Room. This meeting is for all parents and guardians of students in music at Amador Valley High School. If your son or daughter sings in a choir, plays in the orchestra or a band, or performs in guard or percussion - YOU are an AFM member and this meeting is for YOU! The agenda will include some common but important topics for the end of a year, including a presentation of the 2011-2012 AFM Budget, and the election of the 2011-2012 Executive Board. There will also be a few other topics to wrap-up, including Magic of Music results and the status on the 7th period day. As outgoing AFM President, I am also looking forward sharingwith you a final reflection and hope for the future of AFM and its support of all things music at Amador Valley High School. To celebrate a wonderful year as friends in music, refreshments will be served, and LIVE MUSIC will be presented for your listening pleasure. See you on May 12. And thank you for a great year! On April 14, 2011, the AFM Board approved the nomination of these candidates for the 2011-2012 Executive Board. The Board election occurs at the AFM All-Members Meeting on May 12, 2011 at 7:00 pm in the Choir Room. Additional nominations are permitted from the floor at that time.
