We are looking for a new eScrip coordinator.  It's a job that you can do from home, on your own schedule.  It takes just a couple of hours per month.  All you need is a computer and some minimal knowledge of Excel spreadsheets. Training will be provided until you are completely comfortable with the process.  Please contact Anne Gove at for additional details.

Thanks much,

Anne Gove

Thank you to the faculty and students who participated in the presentation of "The Sound of Music!"  The show was simply wonderful, and AFM congratulates you on your fine performances, excellent staging, and beautiful music!

Good luck to guard and percussion this weekend!

The guard and percussion finish out their seasons at CCGC championships on Saturday.  Both groups have had fantastic years and I'd like to congratulate the students and thank the parents for all of their hard work and support.

Community showcase for all PUSD guard and percussion groups Friday! Come to Foothill High School's large gym tomorrow night at 7:00 pm for a FREE showcase of all of the guard and percussion units in the district.

CMEA Band Festival is April 15/16    Please check the music website for schedule information.  A reminder that all students are responsible for finding their own ride to festival, but that students are not allowed to drive themselves or other students as this is a school function.  Parents are invited and encouraged to attend and support this important performance.  There is no cost.

Saratoga/Wind Symphony joint concert a success! Thank you to the following parents for driving to Saratoga and supporting this unique and wonderful opportunity for the musicians in Wind Symphony: Mark Garrett, Annette Buck, Nalanda Bowman, Justin Briggs, Meri McCoy-Thompson, Jody Harcourt, Marcia Ikeda, Mina Behnam, Allison Cox, Joan Urban, Steve Opperwall and Dave Choy.

And finally, thank you for all of the well wishes upon my return from my unexpected hospital visit and surgery earlier this month.  I am glad to be back and am fully recovered and ready for a great finish to the school year!  Have a wonderful spring break!

Director of Bands

Fellow AFM Members, May 12, is the final All-Members Meeting for the year.  This is an important meeting for members, as two important votes occur at this meeting: Budget 2011-2012 and the Election of the 2011-2012 Executive Board.   All members - parents of choir, orchestra, bands, percussion and guard - are encouraged to attend this meeting.  Refreshments will be served.  And there will be LIVE MUSIC - generously presented by some of our students.  Please mark your calendars now.
