Magic of Music American Bandstand Decorations in Full Swing!
Do you want to join in the fun?
Looking for a fun way to get involved with the music program? How about joining the decorations committee for Magic of Music? This is especially for you if you like music of the 50's, 60's, 70's and 80's. And if you have or know of decorations that would showcase those decades, please let us know. We have a team of people working on ideas to turn the Sunol Country Club into an American Bandstand. We need a few more people to help us in creating the decor prior to the event and helping on the day of the event. If it sounds like something you would like to do, please contact Ellen McGraw .

Wind Ensemble II is leaving Amador at 1:30 and will be back at 7:00 pm. Wind Ensemble I is leaving Amador at 4:15 and will be back at 9:30 pm
Please email me if you are able to help out. Chaperones must be cleared already as volunteers to help out. Thanks in advance!
CBDA All-State attendee information The 14 students representing Amador at CBDA All-State will be departing on February 17 at lunch. Students will need to bring money for a fast food stop on the way down and 15.00 to cover the cost of transportation. Students are expected to have their own ride home arranged after their concert performances.
Do you have a child in 2nd period Wind Symphony? If so, keep reading! On Thursday March 24, all Wind Symphony members will be performing in a shared concert with musicians from Saratoga High School in the beautiful McAfee Theater on Saratoga's campus. We have planned a pre-concert rehearsal and dinner for the musicians from both schools. Students will need to arrive at Saratoga High School at 4:30 pm. We are using carpools to get the kids to and from Saratoga for the performance. The planning for that needs to begin now so all 65 students have rides arranged. Any parents who drive will have dinner provided for them by the Saratoga Music Boosters and of course all parents are invited to attend the concert at 7:30 pm.
Please e-mail me if you can drive students and let me know how many. We've got plenty of time to coordinate, so thanks for your help with getting this done early!

Campana Volunteer Update
The 2011 Campana Jazz Festival is fast approaching, and the final blanks on the volunteer schedule are awaiting names. Your generous gift of time will be appreciated with FREE admission to the festival. If you are ready to SAY YES to one of these positions, please email Marilyn Palowitch.
Volunteers are still needed for:
Workshop and Clinic Monitors: Simply be the responsible adult in a room, keeping time and helping to maintain a "learning" environment (no unnecessary interruptions, etc.) Past monitors have loved this position for what they learn! Shifts available: 8 to noon; 10 am to 2 pm.
Relief Workers: Not-Jazz Parents are needed to sub for Jazz parents for an hour, so the Jazz parents can go to watch their children play. Shifts Needed: 10-11 and 12:45 to 1:45.
Instrument Storage: One person is needed, from 4 to 7 pm, to sit quietly inside the Q building, where instruments are stored when not in use. You will not be responsible for the instruments; you are just there to make sure students come and go with purpose, and no loitering. Good time to catch up on your reading.
