Earn $$ for AFM

Gene's Fine Foods is running a contest starting Dec 1, 2010 and running through May 15, 2011. The school organization that spends the most money at Gene's during this time wins $1000 (with $500 for 2nd and $250 for 3rd). When you shop there, just tell the cashier that you're with AFM . You can get your friends and family to help too. Have them mention AFM too. Not only that, but you can "double-dip". If you buy Gene's scrip, you'll get the customary credit directly in your student account plus the amount you spend counts toward the contest. Finally, they're increasing the amount of scrip rebate in Jan and Feb to 8%. Such a deal!

AVHS Winter Percussion and Winterguard Show
Saturday, February 5, 2011

Guard 2AVHS will be hosting one of the largest CCGC (California Color Guard Circuit) events other than Championships.  Our Winter Percussion and Winterguard units are very dedicated, and their shows are fabulous!  If you have never seen Winter Percussion and Winter Guard, you are in for a treat.

Winter Percussion uses the "pit" instruments and the drum line corps, playing and marching in precision formations inside the gym.

Winterguard uses recorded music to perform dance, precise formations, and spinning of flags, rifles and sabers. Both events are truly the "Sport of the Arts". To make this competition a success we need the help of parent volunteers.  Student sign ups have been posted in the Band Room.

Specifically, we need the following:

Winter Percussion Coordinator-help me recruit and communicate with WP families

Campus Supervision 2nd Shift 1-4, 3rd Shift 4-8, 4th Shift 8-End  Do you like to be outside? This job is for you!  Walk around campus make sure the facilities are in order and provide     guidance.

Parking Lot Supervision all shifts-Help with traffic flow, assist with truck parking, set up lighting for evening shifts.

Set Up/Clean Up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Shifts-I think the name says it all!

Please click on this link, to sign up for a volunteer position.

Thank you for your help and support. We hope to see you February 5th!
