Job of the Week
"Let them eat cake"
Cake Runner
The Grubmaster needs someone to order, pickup and deliver the cakes for championship weekend. AFM foots the bill! This is a great job for a couple with a spacious vehicle. Pickup at a Costco in Fresno and make it easy! Want to help? Contact Leanna!
Getting involved with AFM is one of the most rewarding volunteer gigs in town. "How can you help?" Take a look at How Can I Help? on our website.

SCRIP emails coming!
Recently, we've discovered a significant number of AFM members are not getting the bi-monthly SCRIP email reminders. We have begun to correct this error, and many of you will begin to get these emails for the first time in the next two weeks.
Purchasing Scrip is one of the easiest ways to raise money for your student's AFM account. Go to the Scrip page on the website for details.

Congrats!!
Congratulations to the marching band and colorguard on braving the elements and the long day to turn in outstanding performances at the Foothill Band Review and the Gilroy competition. The band made a little bit of history in taking 1st place in a music caption over our competitors in 5A! A special thanks to Jody Harcourt and the crew of RA's and Rich McManus and his team of RW's for an AMAZING job in less than ideal circumstances. Additionally, the Sea of Purple was awesome... ....clearly your spirits weren't dampened! Looking ahead: Performance time for the Merced Invitational is 8:22 pm. Detailed information to come early next week.

Wine Drive October 30th!
We are introducing a "wine pull" at our upcoming MoM fund raiser on April 30, 2011, so we're collecting wine donations from our AFM families and local wineries in order to achieve our goal for this event. In an effort to make it as easy as possible for everyone to contribute, we will be hosting a wine drive on Saturday, October 30.After you drop your student off for band practice in the AM, please come by The Butler's house at 1420 Parkview Ct. (2 blocks from the school, on the corner of Harvest Rd. , across from the park). You can drop off your donation & enjoy a cup of coffee. Please Do NOT bring wine to school.Donation forms are available for you to fill out on the website, and we'll have them on hand at the wine drive. Each family will be recognized for their contributions.Contact Sher Butler or Sally Baker for more information. They will be happy to arrange for pickups of your donations anytime throughout the year. Your donation to the success of Magic of Music 2011 is greatly appreciated!

Moos Elementary Band-Aid
On Sunday, November 7th, from 1-4 pm in the front Amador Valley parking lot,AVHS Band is hosting an instrument/musical necessities drive called "Band Aid". These instruments and music accessories will be donated to Amador's sister band, Moos Elementary band, in Chicago. Moos Elementary has very few instruments, excluding many kids from joining band. Parents are not able to rent instruments for their children, like we do here in Pleasanton. Please search your houses for any old instruments, music, musical protection equipment, or anything else music related to donate to this band in dire need. Contributions are tax deductible.
