Amador Marching Band and Color Guard to debut New Band Uniforms October 8th!
Who: All Amador Band Alumni and Alumni parents When: Friday, Oct 8, 5pm What: Appetizers and Conversation Where: Outside the Band Room at Amador Valley Mr. Grantham and the Band and Color Guard will be giving a special pre-game tribute on the warm-up field at approximately 6pm to all those who've worked so hard to support us over the years. Then we'll all walk into the stadium with the band for pre-game ceremonies. We'll all sit together at the north end of the AVHS bleachers. **Remember to stop by the ticket booth early to purchase your ticket to the football game so that you don't miss any of the festivities. **Contact Trish or Laurel if you would like to share a favorite appetizer with your fellow alums.

AFM is grateful to the alumni - students who have worn their uniforms with pride and have been ambassadors of Amador Music from Pleasanton to London, and to their parents, who have passed the torch for AFM, providing unfailing and continuous years of support. We are grateful to directors Jon Grantham and Mark Aubel, their predecessors, and the Amador administration and the district.
A moment to see our Marching Dons in new uniforms happens in a community with a deep commitment to music education; the other essential ingredient is financial support. In 2005, AFM began the Magic of Music - a dinner, dance and auction to raise funds for the needs of a growing music program. After 6 years - we have raised over $200,000 to provide instruments, equipment, transportation needs, and of course - new uniforms. We are humbled by the overwhelming community support for the Magic of Music - businesses, sponsors and citizens who have donated gifts, services, vacation homes, and money. Thank you to the past AFM leaders and members for your foresight. We all stand here today - retiring uniforms that are 13 years old.
In another 13 years, Amador will be 100 years young. And the band may once again be in need of new uniforms. Today we acknowledge the desire, planning and commitment needed to assure future students the same gifts our students enjoy today. In that spirit, may I be the first to invite everyone listening to do two things - come out to see the band this year! And please join us on April 30, 2011 for the 7th Annual Magic of Music.
