Did you see this year's Marching band show, "Where the Sidewalk Ends"? The entire band started the show laying on the ground forming a sidewalk on the field. The visuals were amazing and the music, of course, was spectacular. They finished the year at the WBA championships in seventh place with their finest performance. In a tribute to that show the theme of this year's Magic of Music (aka MoM) annual fundraiser is "The Sidewalk Café". It will be held on Saturday, March 27 at the Pleasanton Senior Center.
In case you've forgotten, the Magic of Music is THE annual fundraising event for the Amador Friends of Music. It replaces many smaller fundraisers (candy sales, car washes, etc.) with one Fun night with far greater rewards! It includes an upscale dinner, dancing, silent auction, live auction, raffles, games, and excellent musical entertainment provided by our own students!
This is the Sixth Annual Magic of Music, and over the past five years we've raised over $175,000 to support the growth of the band. We've purchased over $70,000 in instruments, $50,000 for new uniforms, $12,000 for transporting instruments to London, $5,000 for a new golf cart as well as many other items.
Ooh La La! A Night to Remember
This year's event promises to be a night to remember. Picture yourself on a Parisian boulevard filled with flowers, strolling musicians and bistros. Grab your beret for your last chance to see where the sidewalk ends with fellow music friends. You won't want to miss out on the opportunity to see world-class performances by our own Amador Jazz Bands.
The night includes a specially created three course French Bistro menu by Eddie Papas. An extra special treat will be the Purple and Gold and Sidewalk Martinis. And of course the wonderful opportunities to support our band with live and silent auctions and games.

Get a table with your friends. Tickets for this exciting event are only $65 per person (down from $75 last year). There will also be a cash bar with half of the proceeds coming back to the band.
