 Where Conference April 2 - 4, 2012, San Francisco, CA

The Where Conference 2012 was a two day conference with an additional day of workshops. The sessions and workshops covered all aspects of location, from social networking, to advertising, to GIS, and more. Location is fundamental to the mobile world, and the Where Conference got that message out loud and clear. While there were no major announcements as in previous years, the underlying message of the conference was all about big data. All of the big players in the location world from Google to 4square have big crowd sourced data. It's time to start taking advantage of it. There are limitless applications from popping of Wikipedia entries for important nearby buildings, to making predictions on what apps to pre-load based on your current location. It is all about location, location, location.

Mobicap Startup Initiative - Italy

The 2012 edition of the Mobicap Start-Up Initiative is a unique fund raising and business development opportunity for start-ups active in the mobile and mobility fields.
The Mobicap Start-Up Initiative is backed by the European Commission through its Competitiveness and Innovation Framework Programme (CIP). Participating start-ups will go through a training and selection process made available at no charge by key industry players and qualified coaches.
