How do you choose what events to attend?

 
If you are on a limit budget (who isn't these days?) and only have so much time to go to events, how do you choose which to attend?  The best thing to do is to determine your objectives for attending and what you hope to gain from the event.  If you want to network with other developers and learn about new SDKs & APIs, go to an interactive DevCon or hackathon.  If you want to meet carriers/operators, go to an event where they go such as T3C.  If you want to know how to market your apps, go to a conference that offers business/marketing tracks.  There is no shortage of events so you need to be smart when choosing which to attend.
