Hi !
Happy New year from all of us at WIP - Carlo, Harper, Teresa, Thibaut and me - all the best for a stellar 2011! As I mentioned in my 2011 predictions ; if you didn't rest over the holidays, don't expect to relax anytime soon no matter where you fit in the industry. We will continue to see more devices, more demand for apps, and more demand for developers.
If you haven't yet, check out our blog for our Predictions- all of them. Our team of five, plus one from my interview with Ed Schmidt from ATT give you six pieces of sage advice to help you plan for 2011!
- Caroline's: Growth, Expectations and Upsets - Harper's: A Look Ahead at 2011 - Teresa's: App Conference Anyone? - Thibaut's: An Apps Odyssey - Carlo's: 2011 Predications Clear as Mud - and AT&T's Tea Leaves, What's Ahead for Mobile Developers in 2011
The predictions range from less android, to more web apps, to more conferences, to new 'couples', to APIs. We've snuck in a few polls, so you can weigh in on where YOU see our industry heading this year.
Where to find us next:
First up is CES in Las Vegas, starting with the AT&T Developer Summit on Wednesday, January 5. We are hosting the very cool WIP Connector Lego Challenge - guaranteed fun, good networking and of course prizes!! Carlo, Teresa and I will be there.
You'll find Thibaut at MIDEM, January 22 - 26th in Cannes for this big industry music show.
There seems to be alot of Contest Deadlines up in January, so be sure to check them out in our Mobile Community Calendar.
I'm also really stoked with the excitement and entries we our getting from our Call for Story Tellers. Something new for our WIPJam @ App Planet, Thursday, February 17, during MWC. Peer stories and support is the best way to learn and gather information about mobile development, so we want to help faciliate that. Deadline is January 7 to submit your story. We will also have some MWC passes for those that attend WIPJam, so be sure to register early. There is still room to Sponsor all of our MWC activites - Developer Survivor Guide, Party and WIPJam - contact me for the package - the best opportunity you will find to network with developers at MWC!
We look forward to working with you and meeting you online or around the world at the many events we all attend. Here's to health, happiness and really good ROI.
Best, Caroline

THE WIP COMMUNITY: Members & Resources

| Check Out The New WIP Mobile API Catalog! |
Last month, we launched the new WIP Mobile API Catalog, a listing of mobile APIs that developers can use to expand the functionality and increase the quality of their apps. It continues to grow as more and more APIs get listed in it, so be sure to check it out. For instance, if you're looking for help with location in your app, it lists a number of different APIs from companies like deCarta, Telenav, Telefonica, OneAPI, Sprint, Verizon and more.
Like the other content on our site, it's community-based, which means you can add to it! If you offer an API for mobile developers, help spread the word about it by entering it there!
