On November 20th, we are hosting an event honoring Rabbi Jonathan Omer-Man and benefitting the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.
Like many of you, we have each come to contemplative Judaism along different paths, and we have both been students of Rabbi Omer-Man.
Jonathan is a rare and subtle teacher who said that there is a place for contemplative practice within Judaism. For rabbis, he opened the door to a world of spirituality usually not taught in the seminary. His teachings go to the heart of spiritual practice and speak to seekers of every kind. And his work and guidance were the inspiration for the founding of the Institute for Jewish Spirituality.
Drawing on Jonathan's profound influence, the Institute teaches mainstream Jewish leaders the importance of contemplative Judaism both for their own wisdom and its transformative power in the Jewish world. As an international organization the Institute is uniquely positioned to spread Rabbi Omer-Man's teachings far and wide.
Whether you have been a student of Rabbi Omer-Man, an Institute participant, or you are curious about contemplative Judaism, join us on November 20th. Please help us to honor this extraordinary teacher and to sustain the growth of the Institute - one manifestation of his legacy.
Thank you.
