Encaustic Art

Encaustic painting is an ancient art form consisting of beeswax, tree resin, and colored pigments; applied hot with a paintbrush, each layer of wax is fused together with a blowtorch creating beautiful luminsecent works of art.  The result is a unique painting, with a lush surface that is simultaneously sensual and contemplative.

About the Artist
Suzanne Bell

Suzanne Bell is a California artist-art instructor known for her inspirational teaching style and her uniquely sensual, yet contemplative encaustic paintings.

Since the time Suzanne could hold a crayon, she's been exploring unique and fun ways to combine such mediums as watercolors, acrylics, mosaics and encaustics. Suzanne participated in an encaustic painting class in 2001 and fell in love with the versatility of this ancient art form. She now creates only in this magical medium. Suzanne says "Some of my favorite things about encaustics are that I get to use a blow torch; I love the hint of honey in the air and how the colorful melted wax lends itself to a playful expression."

Suzanne was born and raised in the Northern California Sierras and although, she is inspired by her beautiful surroundings her paintings truly come from within and follow a free flowing approach. She creates from her imagination starting with a color scheme, later evolving into a rhythmic motion attempting to capture a mood in time.

Throughout her life she has developed as a professional artist having numerous collectors nationwide.

Knowing the Forchino Characters  --

Little Jewel

As a salesman, Dante was an ace.  He could sell refrigerators to Eskimos and shampoo to a bald person. Six months after opening his used car business profits were booming.

When he reached 50, he decided to change his look.  He dyed his hair and mustache black --a very rich jet black.  He changed his wardrobe to checked vests,

embroidered shirts and crocodile shoes.

Everything would have been great if it weren't for a few buyers who felt ripped off. One broke his tooth with a tremendous right cross. Dante wasn't even bothered and went to the dentist to have a gold one put in its place.
Now not only does he thinks he has a better smile, but has a lot more class too which makes him
irresistible to women.

Tour of Duty

Gustavo Lopez had just enlisted the army as a private. At five o'clock in the morning the piercing call of the bugle signaled to form ranks. "The General's pet bird is in danger," roared the corporal while chewing on a piece of gum. "We must go behind enemy lines to rescue the General's parrot, which escaped from its cage. Our honor is at stake" he insisted. "We must save this poor animal from the clutches of those cruel, heartless idiots, no matter even if we die in trying; the important thing is to do our duty! Hail to the nation!" " Long live the nation!" they replied in unison.

The soldier Lopez swallowed his saliva he felt his temples throb, his vision became cloudy, his stomach made a strange noise and two large drops of sweat ran down his forehead.

Is Like Knowing Who's Who

Quad
Sunday the sun rose under a clear sky, when the previous Saturday night had a downpour. Fabian watched the trees as they bent in the wind. The woods were full of puddles; the roads were flooded, filled with rocks and fallen branches. A thick, wet coat of mud covered the landscape. The path which led to the mountain had become a real quagmire with a soup of rocks and marsh. A total nightmare, but in reality a great day for a little ride on the quad. Fabian started the engine and listened to the delicious purring. He gave a few pumps of the accelerator; the engine roared and two long flames leaped from the tail pipes....he felt invincible. At the end of the day, after four hours of adventure, he went home happy. Covered with mud from head to toe, he looked like chocolate cake. He proudly went into the house and walked across the living room carpet. His wife turned to welcome him home, but upon seeing him, was overcome by an attack of muscle spasms and tremors
and fell flat on the floor.

My First Love

When I saw its sensual curves, I immediately fell in love. The elegant air and incomparable way of moving made me lose by mind. It was love at first sight. This small beauty is and will always be my favorite car. The only problem is that when the whole family goes shopping we are a little cramped when we come home. The other day, coming back from grocery shopping, I had to ask the neighbor to help my wife getting out of the car because she was stuck between the cans of tomatoes and the washing powder. And don't forget the mouth to mouth method we had to give my son and to his sister as well, who had a jar of whipped cream on her head, we had to handle the spatula with care to lose as little as possible. Me, I didn't have any trouble, without really noticing I had sat on a stick of butter and just slipped out of the car with no problem.
