Why Mickey Rooney?
During the summer of 2009, Gabrielle Stark (director of American Visions Art Gallery) and Katie Sacco (assistant to Giovanna Stark) were invited to assist Mickey Rooney and a crew of 12 others for a documentary filming of Mickey's life and past experiences.
As a special 'thank you', Mickey, his wife Jan & crew will be coming to American Visions Art Gallery to host a special event. This event will also be filmed as part of the documentary piece.
Mickey Rooney is an American film actor and entertainer whose film, television, and stage appearances span nearly his entire lifetime. He has co-starred with virtually every popular Hollywood actor during the 40s and 50s, most notably teaming up with Judy Garland for nine movies spanning 10 years, and has also appeared in well-known American films such as Night at the Museum, The Black Stallion, and National Velvet. During his career he has won multiple awards, including an Honorary Academy Award, a Golden Globe and an Emmy Award. Working as a performer since he was a small child, he was a superstar as a teenager for the films in which he played Andy Hardy, and he has had one of the longest careers of any actor.
