Second Saturday Art a Tribute to Firefighters
September 11,  5:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Fireman by Tom Hutchinson
Fireman - Hutchinson

Tom's art focuses on the noble and courageous work of Firefighters. "Always a fan of the thrill, in my art I try to capture the beauty and grace of a moment in the action of doing something with inspiration and passion."

Tom has been a Firefighter Paramedic with Metro Fire for more than 15 years.
As a teenager, he studied painting and drawing in High School with friend and neighbor Janie Erickson. Tom later took up sculpture and mixed media at American River College, Sac State and Long Beach State, before
changing focus to study fire science.   American Visions is proud to add Tom Hutchinson to our list of talented and respected artists in the community.
Join us in paying tribute to September 11 and to his work.

Art for Children :

Let the Masters Be Our Model

Our first class was a hit, with many more requests than we could take.

Sign up soon if you are interested in bringing your children, grandkids, nieces or nephews

Master artists are the featured fun at this wonder-filled and whimsical art class sponsored by American Visions Art Gallery in Old Town Folsom.  Bring your child and their friends to the gallery to enjoy an enriching experience creating art modeled after masters like Winslow Homer, Claude Monet and Grandma Moses.

  • Grandma Moses: each child will create and experience a true slice of the American Vision.
                              September 23    4:00 to 5:40 pm

  • Winslow Homer: each child will compose a version of Winslow Homer's wildlife watercolors.

                    October 14   4:00 to 5:40 pm

  • Claude Monet: each child will share in his impressionistic vision using pastels alone.  Monet birthday is this month ( Nov. 14), so it will be a fitting to the artist and the participants.
                                November 18   4:00 to 5:40 pm

  • Chiura Obata: each child will play with the colors and imagination of the artist.  Sapphires and rubies and emeralds, Oh My!
                                 December 9   4:00 to 5:40 pm

Dana Childs, from Flight Arts and Educational Adventures,

will teach each session.
