Disney Comes to Folsom

Mickey & the Capitol Light Parade

Disney in Sacramento - Folsom

As Bob Shallit reported in the Sacramento Bee, the new Walt Disney artwork is "shedding a little light on local history."

This year's scene is a re-creation of the area's real 1895 "Carnival of Lights" parade that celebrated California's first transmission of electrical power from Folsom Power House to downtown Sacramento.

Walt Disney had researched the light parade and decided to recreat it with the Electrical Light Parade in Disneyland. The painting displays some of the floats from the parade -- each full of Disney characters "floating" past the State Capitol, and Merlin Mickey helping from above. Each piece will be signed by Bill Farmer, the voice of Goofy, and Bret Iwan, the voice of Mickey Mouse.

The gallery will have the limited edition canvases 18" x 27" for $645, and one Super Deluxe Canvas which is 24" by 36" for $1275.  It is also available in a paper lithograph (18" x 27") for $125.
