Greetings from Charlotte.

Mario Brown, Carin Chase, Winona Hauge, Representative Cindy Ryu and I have all made it safely to the Democratic National Convention. We are all excited to represent the 32^nd Legislative District.

Our days begin with a 7:00 am delegation breakfast with the rest of the delegation from Washington, including former Speaker Tom Foley. The rest of today is full of constituency and faith-based caucus meetings, and Carin is volunteering at the Home Building Service Project.

Last night we attended a welcome reception with the delegations from Arizona, Colorado, and Oregon. Mario was the hit of the evening, singing Al Green's "Let's Stay Together" in front of the delegations.

On Thursday, President Obama will accept the Presidential nomination. We encourage you to watch his speech at the Shoreline Campaign Office in the North City neighborhood in Shoreline (1622 179th St NE Shoreline). Sign up to watch the event here.

The Shoreline City Council will hold a public hearing about Referendum 74, concerning marriage equality in the State of Washington. The 32^nd District supports the referendum and we encourage everyone to attend the meeting and explain why the Council should take a position in support as well.
