May 17, 2012 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ |
Greetings!
Friday, May 17 at 4:00 pm is the last day to file to become a PCO for the 2013-14. As of Wednesday evening, we have people filed in 47 of the nearly 180 precincts in the district.
I would like you to file to become a PCO today and thank you everyone who has already filed.

From Stephanie Harris (PCO - Ann):
"Today I am renewing my PCO filing because I know that it is actually the most powerful elected position in the district. When one of our electeds retires or for some other reason cannot fulfill his/her obligation, it is the PCO who makes the choice until the next election. We get to doorbell and phone people in our precinct - and we can educate them first hand about the issues most important to us. The people we are educating are usually the folks who are just to busy with family and jobs, plus have been led to believe that their vote/voice doesn't matter. That's where the PCO comes in. At least that is my experience, and I've been a PCO for about 10 years now."
Make sure to have a voice in how our government is run - file for free to become a PCO.
Precinct Committee Officers are the lifeblood of the grassroots efforts of the Washington State Democrats. PCOs energize and organize their neighbors, they get out the vote to elect and keep good Democrats in office, and they vital to the efficient running of the Legislative District Democratic Organizations. PCOs are the only individuals able to vote on nominations for State Legislature, to fill vacancies in our State legislative delegation, and elect the Chair, Vice-Chairs and State Committee Representatives.
Our goal is to have a Democratic PCO in every precinct in the district. There is no cost to file to become a PCO.
For more information about the duties of a PCO, read the information provided by the State Party. If you have further questions, feel free to contact me or our PCO coordinator, Thom Langley (206 778-1299, bossthom54@gmail.com).
You must file by 4:00 pm this Friday, but do not wait.
