Greetings!
Remember, this Sunday, April 15 is the 2012 Precinct Caucuses. We expect all Precinct Committee Officers to chair their precinct caucus. In this email are information about the caucus and links to information that may be useful to you.
Preparation
The list of caucus locations can be found at our website http://www.32democrats.org or you can find your personal caucus location at http://www.wa-democrats.org/caucuses.
I can send you a list of people who attended the caucus from your precinct in 2008 if you would like to call them and invite them to the caucus personally.
Sunday
Information for the Precinct Caucus Chair will be in your packets that you receive on Sunday. You can take a look at them in advance here. In addition, sign-in sheets are available at the 32nd District website.
The Caucuses convene at 1:00 pm on Sunday. Please consider coming a little early to help finish setting up and directing people to their caucus location.
Please be sure to collect email addresses and Affirmative Action data from the Delegates and Alternates elected from your precinct. Email addresses help lower the costs and reduce the amount of paper that is necessary to run the LD Caucus, which will be at Edmonds-Woodway High School on April 28.
Please return all information, including the names of those elected, and and platform suggestions and resolutions to the LD Caucus to the Area Coordinator after you adjourn the precinct caucus. The number of delegates and alternates elected from your precinct are on the envelope of your packet.
You may not have enough people attend the caucus to fill all of your delegate and alternate spots. If that happens, do not worry about that. 17 year olds may participate in the caucus if they turn 18 on or before November 6, 2012.
If your precinct was split due to redistricting, be sure to tell people that they will caucus with the LD in which they currently reside. So, someone could caucus with the 32nd for the precinct caucus, but because they live in the 1st, they will caucus with the 1st LD on April 28. Only a small handful of precincts are in this situation.
