The 2012 Precinct Caucuses will be on Sunday, April 15 at 1:00 pm at locations throughout the district. I hope to see you all there (A list of locations is below).

At the precinct caucuses, we will elect delegates to the LD Caucus on Saturday, April 28, at 10:00 am at Edmonds-Woodway High School. You will also have a chance to provide input on our 2012 Draft Platform, which will be adopted at the LD Caucus.

The Caucus and Convention Cycle is the opportunity for Democrats to elect delegates to the National Convention and select our Party's nominee for President and Vice President.  This year's national convention is in North Carolina, and it would be great for someone from our district to be selected to go.

We will provide more information about the caucuses and how they should operate at our next District meeting - Wednesday, April 11 at the Richmond Masonic Center in Shoreline (next to the Fred Meyers). 7:00 pm.

Each precinct will caucus at their specific caucus location.

Basically, these neighborhoods (below) will go to the following precincts. You should check this site to find out exactly which location you should go. If you live in the new 46th (Lake Forest Park and Kenmore) go here to find your caucus location. If you live in the new 1st (Kirkland), you will caucus at Canyon Park Junior High in Bothell.

Meridian Park Elementary - Shoreline precincts from Echo Lake, Hillwood*, Innis Arden, Meridian Park, and Richmond Beach*

Richmond Masonic Hall - Shoreline precincts from Richmond Highlands

Shorecrest High School - Shoreline precincts from Ballinger, Briarcrest, Parkwood and Ridgecrest

* Two Hillwood precincts caucus at Christwood. One Richmond Beach precinct will caucus at Alan Charnley's house. 
2012 Platform
 
A draft of the 2012 platform is available on the website of the 32nd District Democrats. There are two versions, one with page breaks with each section and one without.

There will be some copies of the platform at each precinct caucus location, but we are trying to save paper, so please review the draft and bring suggestions to your precinct caucus. We will work to incorporate your comments after the precinct caucuses.

At the LD caucus we will adopt the platform. Since time is limited at the LD caucus, it is not likely that we will be able to debate every line of the platform. Your suggestions in advance are the best way to influence the 2012 platform of the district.

Draft rules of the LD Caucus will be presented to the Executive Board at its meeting on Wednesday, March 28 and at the district's meeting in April.

2012 Caucuses - Saving Paper
 
The 2012 caucuses involve lots of paper. We have rules of the caucus that need to be sent to the delegates to the LD caucus. We have the platform that needs to be sent to the caucuses, and there are lots of forms that need to be filled out.

If you can, please enter your email address when you sign in to the precinct caucus. This way, we can electronically send you information about the caucus, rather than printing more paper.
