Welcome 2012
Greetings! ,
The Washington State Redistricting Commission maps are complete - click here- and bring significant changes to the 32nd LD. Most notable are the additions of Lynnwood and a portion of Seattle. The rearrangement also places Lake Forest Park and Kenmore in the 46th LD, Kirkland goes to the 1st LD and portions of Edmonds are now in the 21st LD.
Every organization, but particularly grass-roots organizations like the 32nd LD Democratic Organization, grow and evolve over time. Many factors contribute to the course of that development, and one of the most significant elements for political groups is the people who do the work.
We regret losing some of our hardest-working, most thoughtful members to the new 46th, 21st and 1st LD where we know they will be warmly received and will continue their deep involvement in political life. In turn, we will be welcoming equally exceptional members from new parts of the district, and we look forward to their contributions to every aspect of what we must do to be successful.
Because of the way our Party functions, over the years we've had opportunities to interact with members of these new additions so we are already acquainted with many of them. We are eager to add their skills and leadership to the mix.
We will gather to welcome our new members and PCO's and toast our moving members and PCO's next week- January 11th at 7PM at the Richmond Masonic Center in Shoreline.
With these changes there are opportunities also. It is time to gear up for the election cycle and 2012 Caucus cycle. The Endorsement committee is seeking new members and we are also looking for a Recording Secretary and Tech person to join the Executive Board.
Remember- renewal of membership is every January - beat the crowd and renew at the Jan 11th meeting. PCO's, renewing and newly paid members will be eligible to vote at the January 2011 meeting.
Looking forward to seeing you next week,
Carin
