"Oh, what a night,"
- Nancy Pelosi

Dear ,
"The successful vote [Saturday night] took our country one step closer to
finally reforming our broken health care system and at long last
helping millions of families and small business owners get the coverage
they need at a price they can afford."
- Senator Patty Murray.
With the holiday season approaching, we have much to be thankful for in our nation and our communities. In the 32nd District, we are especially grateful to our many volunteers who help our organization and help spread the Democratic message with their friends and neighbors. While November and December are traditionally slow times for politics and public affairs, this year is the exception. We must continue to encourage our national officials to pass health insurance reform and at the local level, both the Northshore School District and the Shoreline School District sent bond and levy measures to their voters for approval on the February 9, 2010 ballot. For Shoreline, Woodway, and Edmonds residents, the last day to submit public comments about Point Wells to the Shoreline Planning Commission is Monday, November 30 (email to mredinger@shorelinewa.gov).
Finally, we hope that you will be able to join us for our Winter celebration on December 12 at the American Legion Hall in Shoreline at 6;00 pm. More information follows later in this email. Fired up!

Corrections
In the previous email, it was stated that the voters of the Finn Hill, Kingsgate and North Juanita areas of the 32nd Legislative District would become part of the City of Kirkland. As of today, it appears that this annexation vote failed to achieve the 60% majority necessary to pass by just a hundred or so votes.
This is an important lessor that every vote counts. In Kenmore and Shoreline, just about 53% of the registered voters voted in November's election. This is a far cry from the 80+% of voters in the November 2008 election. Your vote matters.
