Beers and Bratwurst
German delicacies such as bratwurst and pretzels are perfect for the cooler days of Autumn. Celebrate the end of summer at Oaktoberfest in the Dimond on Oct. 9. Sip pints of German-style and craft beer from 15 local breweries, including Linden Street Brewery and Pacific Coast Brewing, or explore the Rootbier Garten for kids' and eco activities. On Oct. 16, head downtown for the Old Oakland Beer Festival with live music and free bike parking.

Explore Oakland Wineries By BikeBike Tour

You don't need to head to Napa or Sonoma to enjoy an afternoon of biking and winetasting.  East Bay Winery Bike Tours offer tours of the "wine city" as opposed to "wine country." The tours stop in at Oakland top wine tasting destinations such as JC CellarsDashe Cellars, Stage Left Cellars, and Tayerle, educating riders on urban winemaking. Tickets are $89, which includes bike, helmet, picnic lunch and tasting fees for three to four wineries. See a video about the winery bike tours here.

Glenview's Thai Treasure
Glenview is one of many great residential neighborhoods where you'll find  notable restaurants. At Banana Blossom, a typical dish includes baked Basa fillet with a side of curry and vegetable dishes - an enjoyable combination leaving you perfectly full. Thai dressings top off refreshing papaya and seafood salads, a healthy choice after a hike through the nearby Oakland Hills. Local ingredients are incorporated into traditional Thai cooking techniques. For more Best of the Best reviews, visit the Food & Drink section of www.oaklandcvb.com.
