TheatreFIRST Kicks Off 2010/2011 Season
The Fox Oakland's main stage is best known for its concerts, but upstairs is a black-box theatre with cutting edge comedy and drama. TheatreFIRST's first show of the season is Anton in Show Business, a madcap comedic romp following the trials and tribulations of three actresses cast in an ill-fated production of Chekhov's classic, Three Sisters. Next in January is The Grapes of Wrath by acclaimed Bay Area director Jon Tracy. In May, there is the Bay Area premiere of Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter, about a Iraqi war vet who returns home and finds herself in a makeshift community of misfits and outcasts.
