Oakland Artists Open Studios in June 
Oakland's neighborhoods are filled with talented artists working in a variety of media. For two weekends each June, art lovers can tour hundreds of Oakland art studios and watch the artists at their craft through East Bay Open Studios. Plan your visit to a cluster of nearby artists by visiting the ProArts East Bay Open Studios map or research artists by browsing through the online gallery. Can't make it either weekend? Sounds of Summer Concerts 
Warm weather means hot times for music lovers at outdoor venues around Oakland. Wednesday lunchtimes in June will be hopping with the Sounds of Summer concerts at Oakland City Center. In July and August, the Bay Area Blues Society presents Home Grown Blues concerts on Thursdays from 5:30-7 p.m. also at City Center. Up in the Oakland Hills, the 2010 season for Woodminster Summer Musicals includes Hairspray, Music Man and Paint Your Wagon. Meet Baby Bali: Oakland Zoo's New Addition
Did you know eland milk is twice as fattening than milk of domestic cattle? Put a smile on your face this weekend with a visit to the Oakland Zoo to see the newest arrival: Bali, the baby eland who was born in April. Bali and her mother Etana live in the African Veldt exhibit. Neighbors in the Veldt include 16-foot reticulated giraffes, crowned cranes, gazelles, Egyptian geese, Griffon vultures and warthogs.The African Savana includes African elephants, green monkeys, hyenas, lions, meerkats, savana monitors and zebras. Hilton Oakland Airport's New Look
Great things are happening at the Hilton Oakland Airport. The hotel is undergoing an exterior upgrade, including improvements to the 12 acres of manicured grounds. Sports fans can follow the game - or pre- and post-game festivities if they've scored tickets - at the Sports Edition Bar & Grill, which features a 10-foot screen and 15 monitors. Guests an stay in shape at the hotel's newly upgraded fitness center, which includes PreCor machines with personal TVs. The Fountain Room, a new meeting area, accommodates a variety of social and business setups. Large windows that look out onto a small garden offer lots of light.
