Boats Galore
You don't need to own a boat to enjoy a boat show. Long a mecca for things nautical, Jack London Square will be awash with boats and boaters in mid-April as two of the West Coast's biggest nautical events come to town, Strictly Sail Pacific and the Pacific Powerboat Expo. A single admission ticket gets you into both shows. Activities include free sailboat rides, wine tasting, celebrity speakers, local regattas and youth activities. Local sailing schools will be on hand to answer questions and the marina will be filled with a tempting array of new and previously owned vessels. Looking to get on the water before the shows? Hop a ferry to San Francisco and back or go for a paddle with an hourly rental from California Canoe and Kayak.
