Nights at Chabot Space & Science Center 
Winter evenings mean earlier dark skies at Chabot's telescopes. See the stars for free on Friday and Saturday evenings, weather permitting, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Whatever the meterology report, head inside on Friday and Saturdays for "Dinner, a Movie and the Universe." Admission includes two shows. When you call the box office to purchase tickets, you will select a planetarium and theater show as well as your dinner time. TheatreFIRST at Fox Oakland
Music rules at the Fox Oakland, but drama is the star on stage at the Marion E. Green Black Box Theatre which is operated by the Oakland School for the Arts. TheatreFIRST is the resident professional theatre company at the Fox, collaborating with drama students during the day and staging shows for the general public at night. 2010 productions include Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead which opens January 23 and runs until February 14.
