SNACK
Greetings!

Perhaps some of you have not seen, but the CDC released that 1 in every 88 children are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I know 1 in 88 sounds scary, but SNACK has changed my son Joey's life so much for the better as I know it has for so many other families with children affected by Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities. And the demand for SNACK is needed more than ever. I don't know what we would do without SNACK and that is why I am so committed to keep it strong and to keep it going.  I'm reaching out to you to ask for your support in our 4th Annual Online Friendraiser Campaign "$100,000 for FUN, FRIENDS, & HOPE" on FirstGiving.

But we cannot do it alone and need your help!

SNACK runs at a deficit and we need to continually fund raise to bridge that gap in order to keep SNACK the unique program that it is - your fundraised dollars cover that gap and help SNACK to keep the low ratio of staff to kids, our own pool, and helps us to have all the extras - movie outings, music classes, open gym days, additional financial aide, free trial classes, payment plans, siblings at no charge for SNACKtivities.  I am hoping you will lend your support by making a donation and reaching out to your family and friends in hope they will do the same to ensure we can continue to provide our children with the help they need to thrive - the opportunity to make friends, have fun, improve skill levels, build confidence and participate in activities that kids do everyday.

Click on my son Andrew's (Joey's brother) page on FirstGiving now.

We know there are many worthy causes to donate to for research and cures but we are here each and every week to serve our kids and families and bring quality of life to families dealing with the challenges of autism and other developmental disorders in their midst. Please scroll down to see how you can help make a difference!

Power in numbers - many people giving a little helps a LOT!

SNACK Staff and Kids

Thanks to the support of many of our SNACK families and friends, the success of our previous online campaigns has reinforced online giving offers a fast, convenient way for people to lend their support - no need to figure out what to wear or hire a babysitter and an easy way for our community to reach out to enlist the support of their family and friends.  I know many of us are going through tough financial times, but it's for that reason precisely we are reaching out to you to help spread the word to ensure SNACK continues to be there each week to serve our kids and their families.

HELP SPREAD THE WORD!

If 100 people within our SNACK community reach out to their family, friends, neighbors and co-workers to raise $1,000, we can achieve and hopefully surpass our goal! This can be done if just 20 of your supporters make a $50 contribution OR 40 make a $25 donation.   Please forward this email to anyone you think would be interested to lend their support and also click on the Facebook and Twitter icons at the top of this email to add to your accounts to help get the word out!

You can make a great difference in our program and the lives of all of our families.

There are two, simple ways to get involved.

What we provide at SNACK is not easy to do each week. "Your support, no matter the amount, will make a difference."

SNACK's mission is to fill a void in the lives of children, ages 3-18, with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities by providing after-school and weekend recreational programs designed and staffed to address their needs. At SNACK, children learn to participate in purposeful play and everyday childhood activities that don't come as easily to them as they do typical children.

SNACK programs are designed and staffed to address challenging behavioral issues, increase skill levels and promote improved social interaction. Our high ratio of student to staff (2:1); class size limit (maximum 8 per class); and use of the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to manage behavior and provide reinforcement, and the staff's unique skill set, enables children who participate to make progress and have fun! SNACK's activity centers are devoted to "Fun, Friends, and Hope" and welcomes those with physical disabilities, verbal and non-verbal language abilities, across all socio-economic, race, and ethnic backgrounds.
