Dear Friends
Following is a list of Allison's February 2008 dates. As always, while we realize that you might not be able to come to a church service or concert, we ask for your prayers for us while we're on the road. Thank you in advance and we pray God's blessings on you and your family.
While Allison is the most visible part of this ministry, there are people behind the scenes that you never see who keep things running smoothly and allow Allison to concentrate on the things she does best, singing and communicating the Gospel. Two such people are Bobbi and Chuck Johnston from St. Louis, MO. They work tirelessly in various ways and are true givers. In addition to home schooling their two kids, Michael and Chloe, and raising a husband, Bobbi performs several jobs for Allison's ministry. Before every concert appearance, Bobbi contacts all newspapers within a 50-mile radius and submits a press release announcing the event, resulting in increased attendance and visibility. She is also responsible for maintaining the email lists, and proofreads every ministry newsletter. Chuck's strength is Information Technology; in layman's terms, he's a computer geek! In addition to working 60-hour weeks as a consultant, he maintains Allison's computers, network, and website. When one of their office computers has a problem in Nashville, he can log in from St. Louis and fix the problem. He has worked tirelessly on the new Elijah Conference website and has made some behind-the-scene changes on Allison's site. Both he and Bobbi are valued additions to this ministry and we thank God for their presence in our lives.
The Elijah Conference website is up! Please take a moment to look at the site and see all that the conference has to offer. There is a place where you can contribute online to the conference, or give a scholarship to either a particular individual or to a general fund for worthy applicants. We ask for your prayers for this event to be a success in changing lives and giving young musicians the tools to be better servants and ministers.
Allison's stepfather, James "Jim" Wilson Burger, passed away early Wednesday morning, February 6, 2008 in Danville, KY after a long illness. Jim was employed for 37 years by the Boyle County Board of Education as a school bus driver and mechanic, and was a farmer, raising cattle and growing tobacco. He was a founder of the Forkland, KY Fire and Rescue Squad, and served as a lieutenant on the squad for many years. Jim was very dear to Allison and Brian and will be missed by all who he loved and that loved him.
