    New Year's Day Accident
    Car accident

Under normal circumstances, a January newsletter should go out in early January, but this year, Allison and Brian have a good excuse for being a few days late. On New Year's Day, Allison, Brian, and Gaither Homecoming Video bass singer Mike Allen, were in a car accident south of Nashville. Brian was driving and the car hit black ice on Tennessee highway 840 in Thompson Station, which caused them to hit the side of the bridge head on at around 60 mph. Their 1997 BMW was totaled, but by the grace of God, all three walked away bruised and shaken but without any major injuries.

Since then, Mike has refused to ride in the same vehicle with Brian! Allison says, "All joking aside, we are very thankful to God for His protection. He has a plan of redemption that still includes the work of the three of us. We carry out His will now with a greater sense of purpose and urgency. Thank you for your prayers for our safety and recovery. We love you all and pray for you as well. May God guide you in all you do."

    Allison on Youtube!

Allison is on Youtube! While there are several videos featuring her on the popular website, we want to point out three in particular to you. The first is a concept video of the song "Toolbox" which was recorded in 1991. This video was never released to the public, so you'll be seeing it here for the first time. The gentleman in the video, Ed Wilburn, has since gone on to be with the Lord. Brother Ed was a member of First Church of the Nazarene in Nashville, and was one of God's kindest and gentlest servants. Click here to watch.

As some of you may know, Allison is performing some dates with an as-yet-unnamed quartet featuring Allison, Mike Allen, Johnny Minick, and Aaron Minick. They sang in Jefferson City, MO last year and Aaron created this video diary of the event. Click here to watch.

The last is a great video of the song, "Living In Canaan Land." Allison, along with Mike Allen and Johnny Minick, sang on a recording project for soloist Aslak Gjennestad from Norway. Look closely and you'll see country music legend Ricky Skaggs. You'll definitely enjoy this one! Click here to watch.

    Elijah Conference Logo

A long-time dream is finally coming to fruition for Allison Durham Speer Ministries. We are happy to announce the creation of the Elijah Conference, a four-day event aimed at training musicians to be ministers to the church. Emphasis will be not only on musical excellence and communication training, but on servant hood, giving of talents, and excellence in business affairs as well.

Allison will hold daily performance training and critique sessions, and there will be daily seminars on topics such as "Creating a non-profit ministry," "The Traveling Musician Through The Eyes of a Pastor," "Technology For Musicians," "Marketing Your Music Ministry," among others. The website is currently under development and should be online within the next few weeks. Please watch for further announcements in future issues of this newsletter and for links on www.allisondurhamspeer.com.

We will be raising money for scholarships and for start-up costs of the conference. Please be in prayer about contributing financially to this exciting new ministry.
