During the weekend of April 13, Allison sang at the Oregon Nazarene District Ladies Retreat held at the First Nazarene Church in Beaverton, OR. As they left their hotel Friday afternoon to go to the church, they noticed many police cars surrounding the hotel and officers directing traffic away from the parking lot. Thinking there may have been a robbery or other incident, they quickly left and drove on to the church.

Later that evening, someone shared with them that President George Bush's political advisor, Karl Rove, was giving a speech at the hotel and there had been demonstrators threatening to disrupt his meeting. Hence the police. After the service, the police were gone from the hotel and everything appeared to be back to normal.

Embassy Suites has a great breakfast so Allison and Brian went down to the lobby Saturday morning to avail themselves of the free food. While eating, they noticed Mr. Rove walk in. Brian had the opportunity to speak with him and being very kind, Mr. Rove agreed to have his picture taken. They were in the right place at the right time!

Please continue to keep President Bush and his advisors lifted up in prayer. While you may not particularly agree with his policies and politics, he is still charged with leading our nation and needs our prayers.

Brian says, "One of the most rewarding things about life on the road are the friends we meet. Harold and Deb Bradish, father and daughter, are two special friends of ours that live in Toledo, OH. We never know when they will show up; they have driven many hours to see Allison in concert, even as far as northern Michigan. We thank God for these folks and the many more just like them. They make our lives richer."
