Good afternoon. We understand that you may be contacted by VW concerning the formation of a group of dealers to engage in the legislative process on behalf of VW. In light of it's inability to get it's way at the General Assembly, apparently VW plans to put together a group of it's dealers to assist it in getting what it wants.

 

After many years of fighting on behalf of dealers, let us assure you that the legislative process is where the dealers' interests diverge almost completely from those of their manufacturers. The legislature is the last resort for dealers to protect themselves against the overreaching practices of their manufacturers.

 

Please recognize that lending your name to any manufacturer efforts in the legislative arena may help VW but is unlikely to be the best result for dealers.
