Meet Rob Lingard, IPMA's New President Elect

Rob LingardRobert Lingard, the Director of Central Services for Deseret Mutual Benefit Administrators in Salt Lake City, UT, has been elected as IPMA's President Elect.

IPMA President Anthony Seaman, CGCM, wants to thank all the President Elect candidates.
Anthony Seaman, CGCM"The candidate pool was highly qualified and as indicated by the need for a run off, the selection was very close. I am proud to welcome Rob to IPMA's Board of Directors. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the leadership of IPMA with his 31 years of business experience. Being involved at the chapter and national level also gives him the insight to be an effective member of the board. I look forward to working with Rob and with the help of the board and membership, grooming him for the ultimate role as president. Welcome Rob!"

75 Revealing Questions to Ask Job Candidates

When interviewing job candidates, are you stuck in the rut of asking the same old questions ... and getting the same old answers? To hire the right candidate for the job, you need to ask the right questions. Here are a few of the more creative choices used by other in-plant managers.
Job Interview
  • On a scale of 1-10, how interested are you in this job?
  • If offered the job, how long would it take to make a decision?
  • What can you do for us that someone else cannot?
  • What would be the first, second and third things you would do if selected?
  • Is there ever a time when a customer is wrong & should be confronted?
  • What is more important: speed or accuracy?
  • Share a time you faced a great deal of personal criticism.
  • How have you changed your current position since starting?
  • Describe a project you were involved in that was a train wreck...if honest, everyone has one of these.
  • Give an example of when you did not know enough about something to be effective.
