Will there be time to talk with industry vendors?
Absolutely! IPMA 2012 will offer a 2-day Vendor fair with 10,000 sq. ft. of exhibits (Monday, June 25 and Tuesday, June 26). Attendees will have ample opportunity to learn about the industry's latest offerings and get better acquainted with the most respected in-plant suppliers in a casual, relaxed environment. This is the perfect time to ask questions and gain solutions!
Where is the Intercontinental Hotel on the Plaza located and what does it offer?

Is there a shuttle from the airport to the hotel?
Roundtrip airport shuttle service from/to KCI International Airport is not included in your conference registration fee. However, IPMA has negotiated a discounted round-trip rate of $32 per person. Additional discounted group rates may also be available if multiple attendees arrive on the same flight and travel together to the hotel. Will there be a golf outing this year?
Charlie Tonoff, IPMA's Conference Chairperson, is arranging a Golf Outing for interested attendees on Sunday morning, June 24, at one of Kansas City's premier golf courses. Golfers will get together in the hotel lobby around 7:30 a.m. and share rides with those that have vehicles. The plan is to be back at the hotel by 1 p.m. on Sunday for lunch. Green Fees and Cart Rental will be $65. Club Rental would be an additional charge. If you are interested in a fun, casual round of golf with your in-plant colleagues, contact Charlie Tonoff at ctonoff@hersheys.com or call (717) 534-4316 ASAP so that he can confirm the number of players with the golf course.
What is the IPMA 2012 Night Outing?
IPMA 2012 Conference Attendees will be treated to the College Basketball Experience, a fun-filled, high-energy interactive experience that puts fans "inside the game" of college basketball capturing the energy, emotion and passion of the sport like never before. Activity hubs feature venues where you can compete to make buzzer-beating shots to win a game, slam dunk different height baskets, make free-throws while facing the pressure of a hostile arena, hustle to make three-point shots, and show off your footwork and dribbling skills. Located at the fabulous Sprint Center, the 41,500-square-foot building is also home to the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame. You don't have to be a basketball fan or even know how to shoot to have a great time. There's fun activities for all skill levels and all heights!
Are there any tours of publishing facilities scheduled?
Conference attendees will have the opportunity to tour The Kansas Star Pavilion, one of the most modern newspaper facilities in the world on Tuesday evening, June 26. The new sleek modern glass building stands eight stories tall, extends two city blocks, and took three years and $200 million to build. Equipped with state-of-the-art, computer-controlled systems, The Star now leads the industry in high-quality newspaper publishing in North America.
Will there be any leisure time to enjoy the city on my own?
Monday night, June 25, will be a free evening for attendees to experience this fabulous city. On Tuesday evening, June 26, after the Kansas City Basketball Experience and touring the Kansas City Star Paviion, attendees, if they wish, can extend their stay a little longer in the evening and enjoy the Midwest's premier entertainment epicenter, Kansas City's Power and Light District -- an $850 million entertainment district with a wide variety of unique and captivating dining and retail hot spots. This is a wonderful opportunity to relax and enjoy the evening with your in-plant colleagues.
What sites are there to see in Kansas City?
Designed as a sister city to Seville, Spain, Kansas City is known as the City of Fountains ... the perfect host site for IPMA's 2012 Conference, "A Fountain of Knowledge." Kansas City features old-world charm, world-class museums, an endless variety of unique shops, first-class dining, and superb entertainment districts. It's a city not only known for its fountains, but for its fun!

What is the weather forecast for late June?
Temperatures in late June range from highs in the upper 80s to lows in the 70s.
What should I pack?
Attire at conference sessions is usually casual, such as polo shirts, khaki pants, slacks and shirts. A sweater or light jacket is recommended to ensure your comfort in air conditioned meeting rooms. For the Welcome Reception and evening outing, attire is casual. IPMA will provide attendees with fun, casual shirts to wear on the Tuesday night outing to Kansas City's Basketball Experience. Be sure and pack your tennis/workout shoes for Tuesday night's outing, as well as comfortable walking shoes if you wish to explore the Country Club Plaza, Crown Center or other parts of the city on Monday night. The Awards Reception and Banquet on Wednesday night is more formal including dress shirts/ties, dresses or dress slacks.
Anything else I should pack?
Don't forget to bring pins to exchange with colleagues that reflect your state, city or even employer at the Welcome Reception on Sunday night and throughout the conference. It's a great way to get acquainted with other attendees. Plus don't forget your business cards so you can stay in touch all year long.
